Fall is usually my favorite time of year, but this year I got so caught up in the beach wonderfulness that I just didn't want to decorate for fall this year. Fall seemed to come really fast here in the Pacific Northwest. So I decided not to do alot. Then I remembered that I signed up to decorate the Church Alter for October, so.... out came all the fall stuff, which is good because I need to get it all out anyway. I have done the same decor for the alter for the last 5 years, so I wanted to do something different. Here are somethings I did around my house.
My attempt at a mercury glass pumpkin, it doesn't look like glass, but it looks old and I like that. I might paint it white next week. I like it on the pillar, seems very Edgar Allen Poe? Especially if it was white Mmmmm.
Ballard Designs inspired burlap vase. I didn't get a chance to run out and get burlap so I used a bit of leftover paint drop cloth.
My good old standby branches and leaves. I still feel caught off guard this fall, just not feeling it. Anyone else having this trouble??

Caught off guard perhaps, but inspired by your painted pumpkins! I like the silvery color... eclectic & interesting!

Your pumpkins turned out sooo nice! I was trying to figure out how to make some of my ornaments look like mercury glass...it didn't go so well though.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful comment that you left me about designing fabric. I can't even tell you how happy it made me. Best wishes ♥ Tricia
